The Long Haul
Five weeks on staying married through the ordinary middle. It draws a different crowd than a series about romance does and it usually draws more of them.
Sermon series ideas · Marriage and family
A marriage series draws people who haven't been in a while and makes single people feel like the church forgot they exist. Both of those are design problems as much as teaching ones.
The ideas here are written so the artwork and the language include the whole room while the content still helps the couples it's aimed at.
The work in the gallery is ours. We’ve designed 33 approved pieces that match this topic for churches around the country, and you’re seeing the most recent of them.
The ideas
01
Five weeks on staying married through the ordinary middle. It draws a different crowd than a series about romance does and it usually draws more of them.
02
A series on how a household decides what it values and lives it out. Works for couples and for anyone raising kids alone.
03
Four weeks on conflict, repair and apology as skills. This is the series couples quote back to you months later.
04
A parenting series aimed at the stage most of your families are actually in. Pair it with childcare on the same nights or half your target audience can't come.
05
Weeks on what gets handed down on purpose and what gets handed down by accident. Good for a church with a wide age range in the room.
06
A short series wrapped around one real event with food and childcare. The event is the point and the series is the runway to it.
Real work
Approved pieces from real churches. Title slides, promo sets, print and apparel, at each piece's true proportions because we don't crop work to fit a grid.

Graphics like these come with every plan. See how your Squad’s graphics team works or check what a plan costs.
Planning
If there's an event attached, childcare registration sets the deadline. That's usually four weeks before the night itself, which puts the art three weeks earlier still.
Keep the imagery broad. Photography of one young couple on every graphic tells everyone else in the room that the series isn't for them.
Every other topic we’ve built is on the sermon series ideas hub.
Marriage and family
Four or five weeks, with the event weekend somewhere in the middle rather than at the end.
Frame it around relationships and household rather than around marriage alone, and say so from the platform in week one.
A promo set, a registration graphic, table and signage for the night itself, and a childcare sign-up piece.
Tell us the series and the date. Your Squad builds the slides, the social set and the print, and you'll spend that week on the message instead of on the artwork.
