Discipleship Sermon Series Ideas and Graphics

Discipleship series tend to describe a destination without naming a path. People leave convinced they should grow and they don't know what to do on Monday.

Each idea here is paired with something a church can actually point at, whether that's a class, a track, a group or a practice.

The work in the gallery is ours. We’ve designed 21 approved pieces that match this topic for churches around the country, and you’re seeing the most recent of them.

The ideas

6 Discipleship series to steal

  1. 01

    Next Steps

Four weeks that end with one specific step each. Build the step card before you build the title slide, since the card's the part that has to survive the parking lot.

  2. 02

    Practices

A week per habit: prayer, Scripture, silence, generosity, confession. Concrete enough that a person can tell you whether they've done it.

  3. 03

    Apprentice

A series on learning a life by watching someone live it. It sets up a mentoring push better than a general call to grow ever will.

  4. 04

    Rule of Life

Weeks that build toward each person writing their own short plan. The take-home worksheet is the real deliverable here.

  5. 05

    Follow

A run through what Jesus asked of the people He called. Good as a first series for the new believers who'll come out of a baptism weekend.

  6. 06

    Deep Roots

Five weeks for the long-time attender who stopped growing years ago. It names a problem most churches won't say out loud.

Planning

What To Build and When

The pathway graphic outlives the series. One clear diagram of how a person moves from guest to serving gets used in the lobby and in every follow-up email you'll send for years.

Build the class art and the series art together. When they look unrelated, the class reads as a program rather than as the next thing the sermon's asked for.

Every other topic we’ve built is on the sermon series ideas hub.

Questions Churches Ask

What should a discipleship series end with?

One named step with a date on it. Ending on encouragement won't move anybody.

How long should a discipleship series be?

Four to six weeks, matched to the length of whatever class or track it feeds.

Does a growth track need its own branding?

It needs to be recognizable across signage, print and the website, which usually means it's got its own mark inside the church's existing system.

Want the artwork handled?

Tell us the series and the date. Your Squad builds the slides, the social set and the print, and you'll spend that week on the message instead of on the artwork.
