Multiplying campuses multiply the creative, not the staff
A multi-campus church does not need eight times the creative team. It does need considerably more than one campus worth. Every location has its own signage, its own announcements, its own local moments, and all of that sits on top of the church-wide series work that has to look identical in eight rooms on the same morning.
The usual answer is to hire until the work is covered. That answer stops being affordable long before the campus count stops rising.
Capacity that scales with the weekend, not the payroll
Pathway uses the Squad as the production floor behind its own creative leadership. Bonnie Harrell's team decides what the church is making and why. The volume then gets absorbed by people who are not on Pathway's payroll and do not need to be for a heavy month to stay survivable.
A normal week was never the test. The arrangement earns its keep when eight campuses all need something on the same Tuesday.
“I can't do what we do without CMS to be able to move our church forward in the way we need to.”
Four years in, and the arrangement still holds
Pathway has been with the Squad since July 2022, and we have delivered more than four hundred and eighty projects for them since. The church reports 2,500 to 3,000 people across eight campuses on a weekend.
No single dramatic number sits at the end of this one, which is rather the point of it. What Pathway bought was the absence of a crisis: no scramble when a campus opens, no hiring round to cover a season, no series that ships to seven locations and misses the eighth.
- The campus count and attendance are Bonnie Harrell's, from her recorded interview.
- The 481 projects are a count of every job we logged for Pathway, taken from our production records on 7 August 2026.
- Membership has run unbroken from 16 July 2022 to the date this page was written, per our own billing records.
