  • Project: Ten Promises Sermon Series

  • Challenge: Reframe the Ten Commandments from rules to relationship

  • Solution: Custom art direction blending strength and tenderness

The Challenge

Oasis Church was preparing to teach through the Ten Commandments but wanted to shift the narrative from strictly rule-following to understanding the Father-heart of God.

Their specific needs:

  • Break through the "rules-only" mindset

  • Create visuals that would resonate with their entire church

  • Support their teaching with meaningful imagery

The Heart Behind The Series

"The Ten Commandments are often treated as just a bunch of rules that must be followed simply because they were given to us by an all-powerful God. But they're so much more than that. Not only do they have a powerful God behind them, but there is a loving Father behind them. When you study the Ten Commandments through the lens of a loving father, they read more like 'tender' commandments."

Our Approach

Working closely with their team, we provided custom art direction aligned with their brand and vision:

  • Combined rugged slate rock with delicate flowers for perfect visual balance

  • Created a sophisticated neutral base with warm accent colors

  • Maintained flexibility for various ministry applications

Why It Worked

  • Visual representation of God's character

  • Balanced theological depth with visual engagement

  • Aligned with church brand

  • Supported teaching objectives

  • Versatile branding works for multiple assets

What They Had to Say

"Oh, I love this so much. I feel like whenever I'm in design I lean more masculine, and I love the femininity here. AND—man, this is great, so many visual images are coming to my mind out of this graphic for me to use as visual illustrations throughout this series."

- Bill Rose, Lead Pastor
