Easter Reminders that Church Staff Need to Hear
Easter can feel like a sprint, but you are not alone in it. If you are serving behind the scenes, writing the words, building the slides, running the cameras, or welcoming people at the door, your faithfulness is making space for real encounters with Jesus. Here are a few reminders to carry with you as you head into Easter week.
Remember that your work matters
The good news is that the work of changing hearts and transforming lives isn’t up to you. But we trust that God’s put you in ministry for a reason, and wants to use your gifts to help people encounter the message of Jesus in a new way. What an honor to get to partner with Him in this eternal work!
Remember that numbers don’t really matter
Numbers don’t really matter. Yep, we said it! People matter. Stories matter. And yes, each number represents a person with a story, but don’t lose sight of the person in front of you by getting caught up in the number of seats that are filled.
Remember that sometimes the greatest impact comes from meeting the need in front of you
Cleaning up a coffee spill, holding a door, or updating last-minute slides might feel mundane, but you never know what might help someone take their next step towards Jesus.
Remember how people feel matters
A guest won’t remember an elaborate Easter service, how the coffee tasted, or how far they had to walk from the parking lot. What they will remember is how they are treated and how the experience felt. After all, we are celebrating the single greatest story in history. Put on a smile and turn up the joy, people!
Remember that you might not see the fruit
You might not see the fruit of your labor by the end of service Sunday. Or Monday. Truthfully, you might not see it in this lifetime. But that doesn’t mean that God’s not working. You might not see how God is quietly working on someone’s heart, slowly bringing restoration to a broken relationship, or using your message to set someone free from sin—but we can sure believe that we’ll get to see the fruit someday!
Remember to rest
Whether you find a sliver of time on Saturday or finally take a moment to exhale on Monday, don’t forget to rest. You’ve poured out a lot, and God wants to fill your spirit before you go back into the busyness of ministry life.
Remember that Easter is for you too
When part of your job is to create space for others to encounter the resurrection story, it’s easy to forget that the Easter story is for you, too. Even as you’re caught up in the details for Easter Sunday, slow down enough to see the resurrection for yourself.
You’ve got this! (and you don’t have to do it all yourself)
As you head into Easter, take a breath. God is already at work, and what you’re doing matters, even when it feels unseen. Keep showing up, and trust that He will multiply what you offer.
And if you want next Easter to feel less busy, we would love to help. Church Media Squad can support your team. When you’re ready, reach out and let’s start planning ahead.
