Social Media Manager Contractor
One Contractor Position

The Position
Church Media Squad is looking for a Social Media Manager Contractor to join our growing Squad. At Church Media Squad, we exist to make church media better by helping local church ministries with graphic and video production, communication and social strategy, website strategy, and full-scale branding.
This role focuses on helping churches extend their message beyond Sunday by creating thoughtful, strategic social media content that reflects the heart of each sermon.
The contractor will primarily be responsible for reviewing sermon material, writing captions, identifying strong quotes for reels, and populating designed carousel templates in Photoshop. The workload will vary depending on client submissions and timelines—estimated at 8–12 hours per week.
This is a project-based role with weekly review and assignment. Contractors will be notified in advance of available hours and expected deliverables. All work is remote.

Church Media Squad is based out of Salt Lake City, UT. The state of Utah has the lowest percentage of Christians in the country, with the Salt Lake Valley having less than 5% who consider themselves part of the Christian faith. Qualifications:
Proven experience managing or creating social media content, especially for churches or non-profits
Strong writing and content editing skills with a focus on clarity and engagement
Working knowledge of Photoshop (beginner to intermediate)
Familiarity with sermon structure and church communications
Able to self-manage time and meet weekly deliverables without heavy oversight
Availability within +/- 2 hours of Central Standard Time (CST)
Comfortable using ClickUp, Slack, Dropbox, and Google Drive
Must have access to your own computer and Adobe Creative Cloud subscription
Responsibilities:
Review sermon video or notes submitted by churches and extract strong quotes, moments, and takeaways
Write clear, compelling captions that connect with each church’s audience and message
Select short clips for reels based on sermon content and submit for basic editing
Use Photoshop to populate carousel templates with key takeaways or scriptures
Coordinate with our internal team through ClickUp and Slack for project updates
Communicate clearly and promptly with Project Managers and follow weekly content deadlines
Maintain high attention to tone, theological nuance, and alignment with each church’s communication style

Higher internet speeds are required for this contractor position.
This is a 1099 Contractor role; compensation will be paid per hour based on project scope and experience.
Pay Structure: $25 per hour
Availability: U.S. business hours, preferably within +/- 2 hours of Central Standard Time (CST).
Church Media Squad reviews compensation arrangements periodically and may offer project renewals or scope expansions.
