The Position
Church Media Squad is looking for a Branding Director to join our growing Squad. At Church Media Squad, we exist to make church media better by helping local ministries with all of their media-related needs.
The Branding Director will help churches clarify their identity and communicate who they are through thoughtful, strategic design. Whether it’s developing a full brand system or delivering a new logo, this department exists to help churches tell a clear and consistent story, visually and missionally.
We’re looking for a hands-on leader who enjoys providing creative direction and feedback, refining systems that help teams succeed, and specializes in logo design. As Branding Director, you'll lead a well-loved service offering, bringing structure, support, and creative excellence to a team that’s known for high quality work.
In addition to leadership and strategic oversight, you’ll personally support branding projects, collaborate with internal teams, and ensure churches receive intentional, mission-aligned brands that reflects who they are and who they’re becoming.
All Church Media Squad employees work completely remote. Full-time employees receive a company MacBook Pro after their first six weeks. Church Media Squad is an Apple-only environment.

Church Media Squad is based out of Salt Lake City, UT. The state of Utah has the lowest percentage of Christians in the country, with the Salt Lake Valley having less than 5% who consider themselves part of the Christian faith. Our Founder’s goal and hope is to be part of God's transformative movement in the Salt Lake Valley by making our base of operations here and helping church plants in Salt Lake Valley.

Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in branding, design, or creative leadership (church, agency, or nonprofit experience strongly preferred)
Strong logo design skills and a genuine passion for hands-on creative work
Experience leading a creative team with a track record of clear communication and people development
Ability to give strategic, thoughtful creative feedback that aligns with church identities
Organized, dependable, and able to thrive in a systematized, fast-paced creative environment
Heart for the local church and a passion for helping ministries visually express their mission
Familiarity with these tools is a plus but not a requirement:
ClickUp, Vista Social, Slack, Dropbox, Planning Center
We are particularly interested in applicants with experience working for a church. This firsthand experience enables us to better serve the church staff we collaborate with daily.
Responsibilities:
Brand Strategy: Review strategy briefs, call notes, and internal transcripts to extract key themes, identity cues, and voice direction. Translate those into actionable visual strategy while providing thoughtful feedback on the verbal identity.
Strategic Oversight: Ensure the branding process remains aligned to each church’s identity, even without direct client contact. Partner with account managers to clarify or challenge areas of the brand direction that may need refinement, ensuring strong alignment between what’s said and what’s seen.
Process Optimization: Lead continual efficiency improvements to how we deliver branding, tools, systems, checklists, and workflows that support a scalable service.
Departmental Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of the branding offering across time, ensuring its long-term value to churches in the All In plan.
Quality Control: Protect design standards and keep creative integrity high across all branding deliverables.
Team Leadership: Support, coach, and guide a brand specialist through structured feedback, team rhythms, and professional development.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (social, video, web) to ensure branding work aligns with larger creative strategy.
Logo Design: Share the load, helping create expert-level logos that reflect each church’s mission and identity, working directly from the strategy brief and alongside the Branding Specialist.
Vision Board Creation: Share the load of designing brand vision boards, helping visually interpret the strategy and direction.
Note: This is a client-facing leadership role over our brand service offering, not an internal position managing Church Media Squad’s own brand or marketing channels.

This is a W2 Employee position with a starting salary range of $65-70k/year commensurate with experience and location.
